Shane Dunn believes that big adventures can be found in the most unexpected places. The idea for Amelia Dandelion and the Journey to Gnawhaven began during the London lockdown, when he spent more time watching the squirrels outside his window than the television, and started to wonder what secret missions they might be on.
That curiosity led him to discover the tragic and fascinating history of Britain’s red and grey squirrels, and he knew he had to tell their story.
Shane lives in North London, where he continues to spy on local wildlife for new ideas. He gets most of his writing advice from his very discerning (and very fluffy) British Shorthair cat. Amelia Dandelion and the Journey to Gnawhaven is his debut novel and the first book in a planned trilogy.
